The following is a brief summary of the services we can provide, to explore what we can do to assist with your building project, get in touch with Contour Architectural Designs today to arrange your free initial consultation.  You can navigate through the further service offerings available by using the buttons at the bottom of this section:

If you are having trouble visualising the finished design from the 2D planning drawings, then Contour Architectural Designs can provide 3D artists impressions and flythrough videos of the proposals so you can see and fully appreciate the project on completion.  Depending on the extent of your project, an architectural visualisation, artists impression and photo realistic computer generated image (CGI’s) can very often help you secure the approval of your planning application.

If you are making structural changes to your property, or building a new property from the ground up, structural design calculations may be required where such alterations or proposals require the services of a structural engineer. This may include and is not limited to; foundation design, wall construction details in a flood event, roof design giving details of roof member sizes etc.  As part of our structural design service, the design team at Contour Architectural Designs will be happy to assist in obtaining these calculations for your chosen project from either your own designs or to plans prepared by others.

If you have already obtained the relevant planning permission or listed building consent applicable to your project and been given permission to commence works, you will require a set of detailed plans giving specifications for the proposed method of construction for building regulations approval.  Contour Architectural Design can provides a full set of drawings for building regulations approval, including the whole make up of the building from foundations to roof and encompassing dimensioned floor plans, elevations, sections, window/door schedule and full specification.

If you have a major refurbishment or building project planned, you want to have all the various elements planned well in advance.  If any part of your refurbishment or building work will involve you having to build over or divert public or shared sewer pipes or the drainage network itself, from a strategic viewpoint, then you need to know what you might find beneath ground as it is likely you will need to obtain Anglian Water Authority or Environment Agency consent for the works; this is where a drainage survey proves invaluable.  Preliminary investigations are made during the site survey stage where position of manholes are obtained and pipe depths are measured where possible. Some projects may also require the need for a sustainable drainage system (SuDS) and in these circumstances an external consultant can be engaged by Contour Architectural Designs to undertake this aspect of the design on your behalf.
